While attending Boston University Jeff was a student leader in countering anti-Israel propaganda on campus and a liaison to AIPAC. After earning his B.A. in Political Science, he served in the IDF, where he met his wife Nava.
Jeff has a deep love and appreciation for The Sephardic Community of Brooklyn & New Jersey where he was born and raised, and a strong connection to the Jewish people and the State of Israel. After the army Jeff returned to Brooklyn where he assumed a variety of leadership positions, serving on the boards of Sephardic Bikur Holim, Barkai Yeshiva, and the National Board of Friends of the IDF.
Jeff’s work at the SCA began with its founding by Morris Bailey, Joe Cayre and Stanley Chera A”H in 2009. As a member of the original Executive Steering Committee, Jeff created the The Israel Leadership course (ILEAD) in 2010 with Shilo Plesser to address the need to cultivate and train the next generation of community leaders and activists. ILEAD became a selective 6-week course in Israel for high school students that has since graduated over 400 young men and women, many of whom today are educators, leaders, board members and activists in the Sephardic Community and beyond. Jeff was an inaugural member of the SCA Trustee Board when established in 2017, and continues in that role today.
Jeff’s passion has always been working to advance the values and strengthen the institutions that make our community and our people great, through education, collaboration, cooperation, respect and service.
In 2018 Jeff and his brother David sold a majority stake of their company, Town & Country Living, to private equity partner HIG Capital. Both brothers continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors. In 2020 Jeff & David co-founded LionHill Partners, a private investment fund.
Jeff & his wife Nava reside in Brooklyn, NY with their 4 children.
